This page includes photos of the various Station, Unit and other small plaques and crests related to Northern Ireland in my collection. As per my other pages, I follow the format of putting some of the more interesting pieces on this page and then you can choose to view the gallery at the end if you want to see everything.
General RUC Crests
This crest was produced in the Far East and sold at Newforge around 2000 – 2002. I don’t know if they did a second production run. It has a small wooden cantilever to the rear to allow it to stand on a flat surface and can also be wall hung. About 9.5 inches high.
Below is the style of RUC Shield produced in the 1970s.
And one from the 1990s:
Station Crests
Belcoo in Fermanagh, Hastings St in Belfast, Carrickmore in Tyrone. Castlewellan in Co Down and Bessbrook in Armagh.
Specialist Units
This next section covers specialist training units, operational units and divisional areas.
Above, No1 MSU (based in Derry) showing their winged Hotspur armoured L’rovers from the 1970s and below, the 1980s Tangi.
and lastly, a mix of representative and social plaques and shields:
The Police Federation for NI
Superintendents’ Association
International Police Association
The Police Authority for NI
Again, these represent a good sample of the crests and plaques in my collection. Others, plus some that otherwise don’t warrant a page of their own can be seen in the gallery below.
